The Amazing Army…School Nutrition Show

The Amazing Army Kid’s Nutrition Show is an interactive and vibrant children’s health workshop for Prep to Grade 2, based on a story designed and presented by author, Louise Elliott (also known to the children as Missy Lulu The Body Scientist).
Missy Lulu™ uncovers an amazing discovery whilst investigating inside a human body: a battle of good against evil where Captain Immune™ and his Amazing Army™ (the Immune System) combat the Bad Bugs™ (germs and sickness). Of course, a sinister spy is sent out from the Bad Bugs™ camp: her name is Sneaky Sweetie™. She tempts us with sweets and treats (junk foods), which make the Amazing Army™ weak and tired (so invading Bad Bugs™ can make our bodies sick)! However, the hero, Major Energy™ delivers the winning weapon for the Amazing Army™: the super power of colourful fruit and vegetables.”

Children dress up as the characters, sing their anthems and feast on fruit  and veggies.

Importantly, they take home a 5-Day Goal Chart to develop healthy eating habits, and once complete, receive a Major Energy Award.

  • ‘Congratulations! Great interactions with Louise & students. Dress ups and songs very popular, characters get kids attention and easily dressed up in beaut costumes. Goal chart & award appears a popular follow up. Fantastic idea with rainbow colours. Students very keen to try fruit & vegetables after the show.’

  • “Thank you so much and WOW what an impact your show had on our Year 2 children. I think the real proof of the impact of your show was evident during our three-way parent conferences: the parents were aware of the show and all the characters.  They reported that their children were actively trying foods of all colours and could tell them the purpose of eating that food.  Many children have been to birthday parties and reported to Mum or Dad that “Sneaky Sweetie” was whispering in their ear and they needed to choose healthier foods.  Others have expressed their concern that there were some “Bad Bugs” in their tummy and they needed to eat some healthy food to make them better.  So, as you can see, you have made an impact on many of the children, and the parents truly appreciate the raised awareness of their children in regards to healthy eating. “

  • ‘It was engaging, lively and relevant for our year one class. It supported our nutrition study and encouraged children to try new fruit and vegetables.’
